Washington County Chamber of Commerce Names Josh Tompkins President and CEO
Tompkins brings more than 15 years of experience in advocacy, workforce development, and community leadership.

Hillsboro, OR — The Washington County Chamber of Commerce has named Josh Tompkins as its new president and chief executive officer, following the retirement of Deanna Palm, who led the organization for 24 years.
Tompkins brings more than 15 years of experience in public affairs, nonprofit management, workforce development, and business advocacy. He has long been an active Chamber leader, serving as chair of the Ambassador Committee, chair of the Public Policy Committee, and Political Action Committee.
“Josh is a proven leader with deep roots in our business community,” said Titonian Wallace Sr., chair of the Washington County Chamber Board of Directors. “His experience in public policy, workforce development, and nonprofit management, combined with his years of volunteer service to the Chamber, make him uniquely qualified to lead our organization into its next chapter. We are excited to welcome him as our next president and CEO.”
Most recently, Tompkins served as the Business and Talent Development Manager for Dick’s Auto Group, overseeing talent acquisition, leadership development, and community engagement across multiple locations. His career also includes executive roles in chambers of commerce and trade associations, including president and CEO of the Associated Builders and Contractors Central Texas Chapter, where he earned a three-year national accreditation indicating excellent membership growth and retention, increased member engagement with political advocacy and workforce development efforts, and overall financial and organizational health.
Tompkins has been active in regional economic and workforce development efforts, serving as vice chair of the Workforce Development Committee for the Associated General Contractors and as a lead facilitator for the Washington County Candidate Training Academy.
“I am honored to step into this role and continue the Chamber’s legacy of strong leadership,” Tompkins said. “As a long-time member and volunteer, I’ve seen firsthand the impact this organization has on our business community. I look forward to working with our members, partners, and local leaders to strengthen Washington County’s economy and help every business succeed.”
Tompkins will officially assume his role as president and CEO on December 1, 2025.
