The Chamber’s long-standing civic immersion and leadership development program embarks on its 43rd year!
Over the years, our dedication to cultivating community leaders has led to outstanding achievements and a robust network of distinguished alumni. We invite you to be part of this extraordinary journey as we embark on another year of fostering leadership excellence.
Hillsboro is a vibrant and diverse community, constantly evolving and presenting new challenges and opportunities for those who live and work in the Greater Hillsboro area. Maintaining the dynamism and well-being of our community requires insightful leaders with strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse groups. Leadership Hillsboro is designed to nurture these essential qualities, providing a unique platform for individuals to engage with various community members and collectively address critical issues.
Our distinctive two-year program begins with an immersive all-day retreat in September, followed by eight monthly all-day sessions from October to May. The program culminates in a memorable graduation event and Community Service Day in June, where the cohort celebrates their achievements. In the second year, participants take on leadership roles by joining a Planning Team responsible for guiding the next cohort. Drawing on their experiences, Planning Team members collaborate with the Leadership Hillsboro Advisory Council and chamber staff to create a meaningful and impactful experience for incoming participants. This second year serves as a vital transition, shaping emerging leaders into influential community champions.

Program Information
Program Details:
- Tuition: $1000 (due upon acceptance). This covers all program materials, meals, transportation, a retreat, and graduation.
- Schedule: Begins with a full-day retreat in September, followed by 8 monthly full-day sessions (October–May), concluding with a Community Service Day and graduation in June.
- Attendance Policy: You’re expected to attend all sessions; missing more than two will impact your eligibility. Every voice matters, and your presence is essential.
Two-Year Commitment
Graduates help plan the following year’s sessions, applying what they’ve learned and paying it forward.

Selection Criteria
We’re looking for a diverse cohort representing a variety of ages, professions, backgrounds, and viewpoints. Applications are reviewed with the goal of creating a balanced, dynamic class. Space is limited! Accepted applicants will be notified in mid-August.
