Leadership Hillsboro: Celebrating 40 Years of Building Strong Community Leaders

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the new season of Leadership Hillsboro, marking our momentous 40th Anniversary! Over the years, our commitment to nurturing the growth of community leaders has led to remarkable achievements and a network of accomplished alums. We invite you to join us this special year as we embark on Leadership Hillsboro 2023-2024, our Ruby Anniversary edition.

Hillsboro is a dynamic and diverse community, presenting a constant evolution that brings challenges and opportunities to those living and working in the Greater Hillsboro area. Sustaining the vibrancy and well-being of our community demands insightful leaders who possess effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse groups. Leadership Hillsboro is designed precisely to cultivate and enhance these qualities, offering a unique platform for individuals to engage with various community members while collectively exploring critical issues.

Our special two-year program commences with an immersive all-day Retreat in September and eight monthly all-day sessions from October to May. The program culminates in a memorable graduation event and Community Service Day in June, where the entire cohort comes together to celebrate their achievements. Participants take on leadership roles in the second year by joining a Planning Team responsible for guiding the next year’s cohort. Drawing upon their experiences from the first year, the Planning Team members work closely with the Leadership Hillsboro Advisory Council and chamber staff liaison to create an insightful and impactful experience for the incoming cohort. This second year acts as a crucial steppingstone, transforming potential leaders into effective community champions.
