Dear Chamber Members,

As I prepare to retire at the end of this year, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the privilege of serving as President and CEO of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce for the past 24 years. It has truly been the honor of my professional life to work alongside so many dedicated business leaders, partners, and community advocates who believe in the power of collaboration and the strength of this remarkable county.

Together, we have navigated seasons of growth and challenge, celebrated countless achievements, and continued to build a thriving regional economy rooted in innovation, diversity, and opportunity. From advancing workforce pathways and championing public policies that strengthen our business climate, to expanding our Diversity Councils, cultivating future leaders, and elevating the voices of businesses of every size, your partnership has made all of this possible.

One of my final and most meaningful responsibilities has been supporting a smooth leadership transition. I am delighted to welcome Josh Tompkins as the Chamber’s next President and CEO. Josh brings deep policy experience, a strong commitment to advocacy, and an authentic passion for serving this community. I have every confidence he will lead the Chamber forward with energy, vision, and a steadfast dedication to the mission we all care so deeply about. I know you will welcome and support him just as warmly as you have supported me.

I also want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the many volunteers who have given their time, wisdom, and enthusiasm to the Chamber over the years—our Board members, committee members, council leaders, event volunteers, and the countless individuals who raise their hands to help whenever needed. Your service has shaped the Chamber’s success, strengthened our programs, and amplified our impact across Washington County.

What I treasure most from my time with the Chamber are the relationships—the conversations, the shared work, and the collective commitment to building a stronger and more vibrant community. Thank you for your trust, your support, and your unwavering dedication to this region.

I will always be grateful for the opportunity to serve, and I look forward to cheering on the Chamber—and Josh—as they continue creating a prosperous future for Washington County.

With sincere appreciation,

Deanna Palm
