Dear Chamber Members,
Summer is nearly here, and with it comes a wave of exciting events, opportunities, and ways to elevate your business and connect with your community.
The Washington County Juneteenth Celebration, presented by the City of Hillsboro, will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Jerry Willey Plaza. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and is a powerful celebration of freedom, resilience, and progress. This family-friendly event brings together the community through music, performances, food, and cultural expression. There are opportunities for Chamber members to get involved as vendors or volunteers. To learn more, contact Yohana Parra and be part of this meaningful celebration.
Just one week later, the Chamber is proud to produce the Unitus Community Credit Union Latino Cultural Festival on Sunday, June 22 at the Hillsboro Ballpark. This vibrant event brings together over 10,000 community members to enjoy live music, traditional dance, delicious food, and family fun—all in celebration of Latino culture. Sponsorship opportunities are available to help your business stand out in front of a large and diverse audience. We’re also seeking volunteers and vendors—whether you’re promoting your business, selling products, or representing an organization, this is your chance to connect directly with the community. Contact Christian Vázquez-Rivera to get involved.
We’re also giving you a chance to win big—enter our raffle for two roundtrip tickets on Alaska Airlines, valued at $2,500. Only 150 tickets are available at $100 each, and the winner will be drawn during the Latino Cultural Festival. Purchase raffle tickets here.
While you’re planning for summer, take a moment to ReMember your benefits—including exclusive access to the Heart for Washington County gift certificate program. This Chamber member-only perk helps keep dollars local and supports businesses right here in Washington County.
Our advocacy efforts are also in full swing. In this edition, you’ll find updates under Advocacy in Action with the latest on the bills we’re tracking and developments in local government that may impact your business.
And for those operating in unincorporated areas of the county, we invite you to join the newly launched Unincorporated Washington County Business Advisory Council. Our next meeting is Thursday, June 5 at 4:00 PM—come share your insights and help shape the conversation.
Be on the lookout in the coming weeks for details on how to advertise in our digital Local Vibes Summer Business Guide, published in mid-July. This seasonal guide will spotlight Chamber businesses and local experiences, and it’s a great way to boost your visibility during the busy summer months.
You should have also received your Destination Hillsboro Magazine and 2025 Membership Sticker in the mail. We’d love to see where you display your sticker! Snap a photo and share it on social media—tag us @washingtoncountyor and use the hashtag #YouBelongHere.
There’s no better time to get involved—whether you’re showing up, speaking out, or simply staying informed. The Chamber is here to support you every step of the way.
Warmest regards,
Deanna Palm
